Summer Vacation Writing FREEBIE!

Follow for Freebies Classroom Freebies Manic Monday
Are you and your students tired of the same old "write about what you did over your summer vaction" prompt?  Well, I've added a twist that will hopefully inspire some more engaged and creative writing with my popsicle-shaped writing stationery.  If students didn't have the chance to do much travelling or go on any exciting summer adventures, maybe they'll feel inspired to write about getting to buy something from the ice cream man or how they spent the 4th of July.  Remember it's the little things in life we cherish the most anyways, so be sure to emphasize this during prewriting.

Finally, when it's time to publish their writing students will get to create a popsicle shaped book (complete with an attached jumbo popsicle stick!)  And if you're feeling really generous, you can even treat your class to a popsicle party to celebrate their successful start to a new school year!
